Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to download software to attend the 2020 KAM Virtual Conference?
  • No, you will not need to download any software. Each day of the conference (Wednesday Thursday, Friday) has a link to join the live meetings. There will be a separate link for the pre-recorded presentations. Prior to the conference take a few moments to review the agenda page on the KAM website. The GoToWebinar platform (used for Wednesday only) will ask you to register for the event first (quick and easy) and then you will be allowed to join the event by clicking on this same link a few minutes before the start of that event. All other events you will be able to click that day’s link at any time and join the conference.
Do I need a password to attend the 2020 KAM Virtual Conference?
  • Yes, you will need a password. A password will be emailed to you as a registered attendee. This password will give you access to all sessions (excluding the workshops). We ask that you do not share the password.
Where do I find the links for the workshops available on Tuesday, October 27th and Friday, October 30th? The links are not listed on the conference agenda.
  • The links to join the workshops will be emailed to you. Since these workshops are an additional fee and you must pre-register, the link will only be sent to those registered and/or paid for each workshop. The link will be sent to you the day before the meeting. If you do not receive the email, contact us at jamie@custommeetingplanners.com.
I already joined and watched the General Session and now it is time for the first concurrent session. Can I just stay on my computer or do I need to leave the General Session and click on the link for the concurrent session I want to attend?
  • Yes, if you decide to attend a live breakout session you can just stay on that same link. If you will be watching a pre-recorded session, you will need to leave the General Session and click on the link for the pre-recorded session.
  • On Thursday and Friday, you will click on the link for that day and you and stay on that link for the morning sessions. You will then have a link for the afternoon sessions. Please refer to the links on the agenda page of the KAM website.
I have a KAM designation and I need to keep track of my attendance. How do I do handle
that this year with a virtual conference?
  • For those attendees with a designation and would like to have their attendance recorded we are adjusting that system a little. You will keep track of the sessions you attended on an honor system. You will still use the Session Tracker Form available on the KAM website. Instead of a stamp, just place a checkmark in the box next to the presentation title on your printed Session Tracker. You can submit your Session Tracker Form along with your completed Maintenance Form to the Designation Committee for review.
I listened to the Exhibitor Lightning Talks and I would like to reach out and talk to one of the exhibitors. How do I find their contact information?
  • Our exhibitors would love to hear for you! You can find their virtual exhibit booth on the Exhibit page of the KAM website. You will find contact information, as well as their website.
How do I submit my ballot for the Board Elections and when is the deadline to submit?
  • An email will be sent to you during the conference which will provide a link to cast your vote. Your vote will need to be cast by 5:00 pm on Thursday, October 29th.
How do I cast my vote for the Map Gallery and when are they due?
  • An email will be sent to you during the conference which will provide a link to cast your vote. Your vote will need to be cast by 5:00 pm on Thursday, October 29th.
What can I do to make sure I have a good conference experience?
  • Here are a few helpful hints:
  1. If you can use a hardwired line please do so, as this will give you the best connection.
  2. You can try moving your device closer to your router.
  3. Do you have your headphones ready? Headphones will help you hear the presenter more clearly and keep out any outside noise.
  4. If you are still having issues, you may want to close your webcam and keep the audio only until your service is responding better.
  5. Participate in the conference! Answer poll questions, ask questions during the Q&A times and join the networking events.
If I have any questions about the conference, who can I contact?
  • We have three ways to contact us should you have any questions or issues.
