Location: Topeka field office located in Shawnee County, Kansas.

The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) specialist works as part of a team to conduct work activities to complete the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Community Assistance Program - State Support Services Element (CAP - SSSE) grant requirements.  Work includes offering floodplain management and flood insurance assistance to community personnel and the general public.  Developing and applying technical knowledge to problems encountered by communities and the public attempting to comply with NFIP requirements relating to rules and regulations for floodplain development projects and aid the public in obtaining and understanding available flood hazard information.
