Conference News
Early Bird Registration Deadline
The last day for early bird conference registration rates is Sunday, October 1, 2023. Register online.
Overflow Hotel Information
We have filled our block of rooms at the Wichita Marriott, but fear not! The Hampton Inn Wichita - East is just down the street and has a block of rooms for us at a discounted rate. Book online or call the hotel at 316-686-3576 and request the Kansas Association of Mappers group rate.
Pack your Costumes for #KAM 2023
We have two nights of fun-filled entertainment for you this year. On Wednesday night, come in costume to increase your chances of winning big at Let's Make a Deal! And on Thursday, the good times will roll at Casino Night. Visit the Evening Entertainment page on our website for details.
Bring out your maps!
We want to see what you've created this year. Submit your printed and digital masterpieces to the annual Map Gallery by October 1 and you could win a $25 Amazon gift card! Remember, the goal of the Map Gallery is to share ideas and celebrate successes, so there's no need to worry about the "prize-worthiness" of your work.
Charity Raffle
This year's charity raffle will benefit Giving the Basics Wichita. Giving The Basics aims to bring improved health, hope, and dignity to struggling children and adults through the procurement, fulfillment, and distribution of hygiene products. Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Buy your tickets in advance in the KAM store or bring cash to buy them at the conference. (Exact change is encouraged!) We will have two baskets: one with an "adult beverage" theme and one with gourmet treats.
Grand Prize
Be sure to stay for the entire conference to be eligible to win our grand prize. This year, everyone present at the closing business meeting will be entered into a drawing to win a wireless headset!
Pre-Conference Workshops
We still have space in all of our pre-conference workshops. No laptop? No problem! Email us so that we can be sure to have enough extras on hand. Whether you're building your own web EOC, mastering the basics in Pro, learning the basics of Python, or catching up on the latest NG911 guidelines, we'd love to see you on Tuesday! For workshops with a registration fee, a late fee of $25 will be charged for people who register on the day of the workshop.
Breakout Sessions Galore!
If you haven't checked out the lineup of breakout sessions yet, you are in for a treat. We think every year gets even better when it comes to our presentations, and this October will be no different. We will have the schedule of sessions by day published to the website by the end of the month.
