Kansas Association of Mappers

Why Join The Kansas Association of Mappers?

By becoming a member, you are joining a diverse group professionals from many different disciplines of mapping who share one common goal, the advancement of mapping and GIS within the State of Kansas. Currently, there are more than 200 members representing federal, state, and local government agencies, the private sector, and academic institutions.

What KAM can do for you

  • Networking. The top reason people join KAM is for the networking. A professional network of peers is essential in today's GIS world, and KAM will help you discover that network.
  • Education and Training. Our annual conference gives our members the opportunity to attend training sessions, listen to nationally recognized speakers, and converse with their professional peers. The KAM Education Committee also hosts training sessions based on the needs of its membership throughout the year. KAM members pay discounted registration fees for all class offerings and the annual conference.
  • Skill Recognition. KAM provides a Designation Program designed to raise the professional standards of mapping personnel and recognize those with superior skills. Members are also eligible to receive any of our annual awards that recognize professional accomplishments in several categories.
  • Keeping Informed. Our newsletter, Metes and Bounds, provides timely information about mapping issues and informative meetings at the state and regional levels.
  • Convenience. The KAM website provides member-only benefits including full access to other member's contact information, posting capabilities on the KAM forum and a special Developers Forum, and the option to subscribe for email updates to announcements, the job board, and discussion forums.
