This is NOT your typical, coffee-fetching summer internship. At BHC, we treat (and pay) our interns like real employees, because they're doing real work. As a part of our team, you will work hands-on alongside our team of GIS analysts and engineers, with potential for field data collection for use in various mapping applications, and participate in a rotation that gives you exposure to the four different engineering segments in our firm and how GIS is integrated. Over the course of this 10-week internship, you will have the opportunity to conduct applicable research on an industry-relevant topic, and present your findings to leadership. Our interns also have access to networking events with other young professionals in the KC metro, fun teambuilding events, fundraising opportunities, and all company events. This internship will begin May 25 and run through July 30, 2024. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position. Explore how GIS is integrated into our 4 different engineering segments (Development, Public Works, Surveying & Utilities) Learn how to utilize various GIS systems (ArcOnline, ArcGIS, etc.) in the performance of work Understand GIS software features and apply them correctly for speed and efficiency Conduct research and present your project findings to leadership at the end of the summer Currently enrolled in undergraduate degree program Completion of 2 years of post-secondary related program Must thrive in and have desire to work in a fast-paced environment Some experience in ArcGIS preferred Able to handle multiple projects
